Introduction to Nitrogen Evaporators

N-EVAPModel
No. 11250-RT

The Series N-EVAP™ and MULTIVAP™ analytical evaporators are time saving and convenient instruments for preparing samples for liquid chromatography, gas chromatography and mass spectometry. They find use in applications where it is necessary to concentrate multiple samples in order to analyze the residue. This is accomplished by the proven technique of allowing Nitrogen onto the surface of a heated sample. The result is a fast and controlled operation.

Features:

6 models will handle 6 to 100 samples at one time.
Holds test tubes, vials, Erlenmeyer's, centrifuge tubes.
Uses Nitrogen or air as the evaporative agent.
Thermostatically controlled water bath provides heat.
Low Nitrogen consumption of 330ml/min/sample.
19-gauge needles standard, other sizes optional.
All units will fit and are recommended to be used in a bench-top, ventilated hood.

Methylene Chloride 40° C 37° C 0.40 ml 25 min

Acetone 56° C 37° C 0.35 ml 28 min

The bath temperature is set approximately 2° to 4° C below the solvent boiling point. The Nitrogen flow is 330ml/position/ minute. Needles ale 4-inch long by 19 gauge. Higher evaporation rates can be achieved by increasing the Nitrogen flow rate and using larger diameter 16 or 14-gauge needles.
